Review on George Hotel
This fine Georgian townhouse is the hub of the town, and is ideally placed between the castle and the pier, close to the ferry terminal. The Conservatory restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere with fabulous waterside views overlooking the Solent.
The stylish brasserie offers a seasonal menu, using where possible organic and local produce featuring colourful dishes with a modern European slant. Kick off with foie gras and confit pheasant terrine, rhubarb and Chinese five spice before slow cooked plaice, leek, spinach, mussels and Vermouth sauce. To conclude, try, blackberry soufflé, butterscotch ice cream and almond crumble or a lemon tart with spiced winter berries.
Fine dining takes place in Isla's, a modern restaurant restaurant decked out in shades of white, open Tuesday to Saturday for dinner between 7.00 - 9.30pm
