Review on Oyster Restaurant at Priory Bay Hotel
'A country hotel by the sea', the Priory Bay stands proud on a 70-acre estate between Bembridge and Seaview, with spectacular views over The Solent and Spithead. The site was first developed by monks during medieval times, although the current medley of beautiful buildings owes more to the efforts of Georgian architects.
Relaxed meals are served in the light and airy Oyster brasserie restaurant where dishes are served family style, featuring either meat or locally caught fresh fish. Most of the ingredients are foraged on the Priory Bay estate including herbs, mushrooms, shellfish and vegetables with the rest sourced from local famers, fishermen and producers.
To complement the food there's a carefully compiled wine list with a focus on organic and biodynamic wines, local beers, ciders and liquors. Service is warm, friendly and professional, and the accommodation is comfortably relaxing.
