Review on Ruin Beach Cafe
A glorious setting make's the Ruin Beach Cafe, built on what was formerly The Island Hotel, a real treasure with its wonderful views towards St Martin's and the Eastern Isles. The restaurant has a Scandinavian ambience, with a pale wooden timber construction and floor to ceiling glass windows to make the most of the stunning vistas. Pretty displays of shell mosaics feature on the walls, as well as original art.
The kitchen offers a Mediterranean inspired menu with a selection of pizzas from the specially built wood-fired oven. Other options worth considering is their popular seafood platter consisting of smoked salmon, mackerel, crevettes, anchovies, brown and white crab meat, parmesan shavings, roasted vegetables and dipping oil with balsamic vinegar. The restaurant is open every day kicking off with breakfast, through to lunch, afternoon cream teas and cakes, with dinner starting from 6.30pm. Children are welcome and have their own menu.
