Review on Le Chinois Restaurant & Bar
An A-list destination address between Fendi and Gucci, the Knightsbridge Millennium Hotel is home to the lantern-lit Le Chinois Restaurant and Bar, which takes inspiration from the award-winning Hua Ting Restaurant at the Orchard Hotel Singapore, well known for its fine dining and exquisite Cantonese cuisine. Located on the first floor of the hotel, the restaurant is an elegant affair with attentive, confident service.
Awarded two AA rosettes just two months after its opening, the kitchen offers guests a wide selection of modern Chinese dishes with a focus on sharing, together with a Dim Sum menu that runs from 12.00 to 5.00pm. Signature dishes include Peking Duck and whole fresh lobster, but elsewhere there's pan seared scallops in their shell with white miso sauce and spinach or crispy shredded duck spring rolls. Other delights on offer include steamed whole turbot with shredded pork and mushrooms or maybe sautéed diced rib eye with laogan ma in black bean chilli sauce. When it comes to desserts. there's banana fritters paired with vanilla ice cream, or apple tarte tartin and vanilla ice cream. To complement the food there's an extensive wine list, cocktail and beers.
