Review on The Case
A one-time suitcase factory in the centre of Leicester is the setting for this aptly named restaurant/bar/party venue, The Case. The original high-ceilinged premises look the business, with antique floorboards, sweeping staircases to all four floors, snazzy white and mauve colour schemes a sunny Mediterranean touches.
Cooking only with fresh seasonal produce and offering no-nonsense British food, flavours from around the world make their mark on the cooking. The menu might kick off with a warm salad of squid and prawns with garlic and coriander or smoked venison with orange and redcurrant sauce, before Cajun-spiced monkfish on bubble 'n' squeak or calf's liver and bacon with herb mash and white onion sauce. Omelettes and pasta are also on offer, while desserts might include rhubarb crème brûlée.
The wine list promises plenty of decent drinking by the glass, and Case is also famed for its swanky cocktails.
