Review on The Five Bells
Refurbishment has given a new lease of life to this 400-year-old village pub a short drive from Leighton Buzzard. Its new image is defined by reclaimed timbers, rich blush-coloured walls and a modern outlook - especially in the comfortable dining area.
Food is served right through the day, and the long menu is bolstered by daily blackboard specials and light pub lunches. Char-grilled steaks with a choice of sauces are one of the centrepieces, but the repertoire runs through Caesar salad, blackened Cajun chicken with linguine, grilled whole sea bass with herb butter and slow-cooked lamb shank.
The Five Bells is licensed for weddings and group bookings are most welcome. In warm weather there are grills and barbecues in the gardens every weekend.
