Review on West House Hotel, Heritage Restaurant
An exclusive seventeenth-century country house in the ancient village of Llantwit Major, deep in the Vale of Glamorgan, West House oozes heritage and history. Once a private residence, it is now a thriving hotel within easy reach of Cardiff, Bridgend and Cowbridge, with Cardiff International Airport just a few minutes' drive away.
Meals are served in the relaxed, traditional setting of the Heritage Restaurant, where visitors can look forward to a mix of seasonal dishes and old favourites. Rabbit pâté with caramelised figs lines up alongside traditional Welsh cakes (Caerphilly, leeks and bacon), while mains might run from teriyaki salmon and rack of venison with ratatouille pancakes to fish and chips with mushy peas. Finish with filled crêpes or hot chocolate fondant with crème anglaise and raspberry coulis.
