You might kick off with crayfish and Suffolk apple salad or confit of duck with honey-roasted plum chutney ahead of roast local cod loin with fondant potato, broad bean and pea broth or Suffolk venison and Flixton mushroom suet pudding with roasted baby vegetables, red wine and thyme reduction. For afters, try Bakewell tart or vanilla crème brûlée with poached rhubarb.

Real ales are on tap, and the wine list is a short slate from Adnams of Southwold - a few miles down the coast. Morning coffee, afternoon teas and light meals are also available in the hotel's main bar.
