Review on Indali Lounge
Marylebone's Indali Lounge offers a rare thing for British curry lovers - a healthy Indian. Rated the Best Healthy Eating Restaurant in the U.K by Channel 4, Indali Lounge has banished all butter, cream, ghee and artificial colourings from its food to create a menu that is both delicious and genuinely good for you.
Inspired by an ancient Indian custom, head chef Lil Lacassagne employs a healthy and holistic approach to preparing delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. As a result of this cooking style, the menu offers a refreshingly brief selection of dishes which are more akin to genuine Indian home-cooking than to the dishes found in modern British Indian restaurants. Particularly notable are the vegetarian dishes, such as fricasee of okra cooked with tomatoes, ginger, garlic and a touch of olive oil, as well as the desserts, with treats such as the carrot Halwa (home made carrot fudge made from grated carrots slow cooked in milk for 4 hours). There is also an extremely well formed tasting menu which makes choosing easier.
