Review on The Beach House
Located on the fringes of the New Forest, formerly the Westover Hall it has now been renamed The Beach House. Stupendous views are one of the great attributes of this superb listed Victorian mansion on the fringes of the New Forest. The hotel has its own private beach hut and it's a sheer delight to eat al fresco in the garden overlooking Christchurch Bay. On clear days, you can gaze out towards the Needles and the Isle of Wight, with panoramas stretching from Hurst Castle to Hengistbury Head.
Originally designed as a seaside residence for an industrial magnate, it has been lovingly nurtured and restored, the interior comes complete with swathes of oak panelling, a minstrel's gallery and huge stained-glass windows. The kitchen offers a menu full of fresh, seasonal dishes using carefully sourced ingredients from their regional food partners, together with award winning Badger cask ales and lagers from around the world.
