Review on Slieve Donard Hotel, Oak Restaurant

Named after Northern Ireland's highest peak, this grand old Victorian hotel puts on a majestic show at the foot on the Mountains of Mourne. Its spectacular tower rises awesomely above the sand dunes and it is surrounded by six acres of grounds within walking distance of Royal County Down golf course.

The Oak Restaurant is the hotel's 'pièce de resistance' – an opulent, oak-panelled dining room with a fabulous fireplace at the centre of things. For something less formal, try the Percy French Inn located in the grounds.
