Review on The Cotswold Lodge Hotel, 66a Restaurant
Cotswold Lodge is an elegant Victorian building located in a conservation area within walking distance of Oxford's historic city centre. The hotel has retained its period features with big bay windows, high ceilings and open fireplace but has all the modern facilities required by guests.
Restaurant 66a is a modern contemporary restaurant that works to a modern slant of classic British and Continental cuisine in an elegant and relaxed setting. The kitchen makes admiral use of local produce, organic when possible, some of which comes from the owner's farm. Starters of teriyaki cod fillet skewers with leeks and scented with garlic and ginger or chicken liver parfait with a fig chutney and toasted brioche give way to mains of seared sea bass with blood orange and spring onion salad or maybe cannon of Spring lamb with a honey mint glaze and dauphinoise potatoes. While desserts take in homemade lemon cheese cake or rhubarb and ginger syllabub with brandy snap pieces .
