Review on Mama Shelter
Mama Shelter is a trendy budget boutique hotel designed by the creative French architect Philippe Starck located in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, close to La Colline National Theater. The ground floor restaurant and lounge is the hub of the hotel with a huge black chalkboard ceiling covered in graffiti, an eclectic mix of furniture, with an enormous bar with stools to perch on while enjoying a drink or snack.
The French menu of regional family style dishes has been created by Michelin starred chef Alain Senderens. To start the kitchen might offer fresh marinated salmon, tartare style with avocado or crisp chicken salad with cucumber and sesame. Main courses take in steamed cod, cauliflower, ginger and gourmet peas or grilled Angus flank steak with devil sauce and fries. To finish there are desserts of pear tart with almonds and red fruit sauce or molten chocolate cake with a heart of Carambar.
There is a concise French wine list together with a very tempting cocktail menu.
