Review on Atelier Maitre Albert
Atelier Maitre Albert is found on the Left Bank of the River Seine in the Latin Quarter of Paris, just across from the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. It is owned by Michelin star chef Guy Savoy and the interior was renovated by Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The contemporary restaurant is a mix of traditional and modern décor with marble floors, old timber beams, limestone walls and a huge stunning 13th century fireplace that is very cosy on a cold winter's night. At the end of the room there is a rôtisserie in the open plan kitchen where you can watch your food being cooked or choose to dine in the library dining room or the wine bar and escape the heat!
Typically you might begin with poached eggs and sprout salad, dressing and seasonal mushrooms or fresh seasonal salad and sautéed chicken livers followed by mains of spit-roasted veal shank with spinach and mushrooms gratin or spit-roasted sea bass, small white beans of Paimpol and white butter. Round things off with pear crumble with caramel ice cream salted butter or delicious dark chocolate, crispy praliné, cacao sorbet and custard cream.
