Review on Antoine
Antoine is a Michelin starred seafood restaurant located near Pont Alma in the 16th Arrondissement of Paris. This charming building has undergone a stylish refurbishment and offers a modern setting, with tall bay windows overlooking the Eiffel Tower. The restaurant takes its name from owner Antoine Vigneron, who spent fifteen years as the director of the restaurant at the luxurious Hotel Le Bristol in Paris.
Heading the kitchen is Thibault Sombardier, who has earned his culinary stripes under master chefs such as Marc Meneau, Alain Dutournier and Yannick Alléno. Seafood cookery is the business of the day and the local catch from Breton, Basque and Mediterranean ports is used to telling effect. Typical offerings on the menu are starters of bouillabaisse or langoustines marinated in hazelnut oil with lettuce and avocado, followed by main courses of roasted lobster served with vegetables en cocotte, or for carnivores there's a juicy fillet of beef. To finish there are tempting desserts such as soufflé with pistachio served with raspberry compote, raspberry coulis and sorbet or maybe Guayaquil chocolate, crispy praline and passion fruit sorbet.
