Review on Hiramatsu
Within four months of opening in October 2004 in Saint-Louis, L'ile, Hiramatsu received a Michelin star. This is the Paris branch of the Hiramatsu group, with two other restaurants located in Tokyo and Hataka. It has since moved to larger premises on the Rue de Longchamp where chef Hiroyuki Hiramatsu continues to delight with his inventive modern French cuisine. This is a sleek modern dining room in tones of cream and black with little touches of blue and red glassware on the tables and stunning flower displays.
Up-to-the minute ideas and luxury ingredients point up the modern menu - witness lobster served with truffles, or pigeon roasted in a honey and red wine sauce and venison served with chestnut gnocchi and honey-glazed squab. Desserts like all dishes produced by the kitchen are exquisitely displayed and you could sample a millefeuille of caramelized apples with rosemary sorbet or the delectable Hiramatus chocolate gâteau. Sommeliers are on hand to help you with the staggering wine list with over a thousand different bottles to choose from.
