Review on La Table Lauriston
La Table Lauriston is a charming French bistro taking its name Lauriston from the street it is located on, in the elegant 16th Arrondissement of Paris. The restaurant opened its doors in 2004, a very pretty affair, with colourful pink and orange walls and tables laid with matching pink linen. Chef proprietor is Serge Barbey who has worked with some illustrious chefs over the years including Bernard Loiseau, Guy Savoy, and Guy Gérard who taught him the French cuisine he cooks today.
Fresh locally sourced seasonal ingredients are used in his dishes for a menu that changes daily. Typical offerings on the carte are bass Carpaccio with dill and green lemon, followed by a main course of veal cutlets in a meat sauce with potatoes from Noirmoutier. When it comes to desserts, the speciality of the house is the giant rum baba which is soaked in a choice of three rums or maybe choose a traditional crème brulee.
Le Table Lauriston combines affable, confident service with excellent food and a comprehensive wine list of over 150 references.
