Review on L'Astrance

L'Astrance named after a wild flower that grows in Auvergne, the mountainous area of France is the restaurant owned by chef Pascal Barbot and Christophe Roha who looks after front of house. This small restaurant seating just twenty five diners has a minimalist contemporary décor with a staircase leading to the small loft area, where there are another two tables.

Pascal earned his culinary stripes at L'Arpège, the well respected restaurant of famous chef Alain Passard. There is no menu for you to peruse here, instead Pascal Barbot produces a different 'surprise menu' depending on market offerings and his culinary inspirations that day. L'Astrance has been awarded three Michelin stars and is a very popular restaurant, so book well in advance if wish to sample the tantalising cuisine of a chef at the top of his game.
