Review on Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée
Alain Ducasse's flagship Paris restaurant is set in the legendary Hôtel Plaza Athenée in its prestigious location close to the Champs-Élysees. This is a sumptuous dining room with its tall white pillars and magnificent crystal chandelier of 10,000 pendants taking centre stage. Featuring original artwork by Pierre Tachon, precious artisanal Japanese pieces from Shinishiro Ogata and four great screens that are scattered with unique embroideries signed by Patrick Jouin. Elegantly laid tables and attentive staff dressed in uniforms designed by Georges Feghaly set the scene for a truly unique dining experience in this three starred Michelin restaurant.
The kitchen under the helm of Christophe Saintagne delivers modern French cuisine with skill in abundance and eye-catching presentation on the plate. Open your account with crayfish bisque or indulge in steamed langoustines served cold with caviar followed by Dover sole meunière or Bresse hen in Albufera sauce. Close the show with strawberries, cream and meringue or hot and cold figs in leaves. The wine list is an impressive tome of over 1000 bins fronted by high-class names from around the world.
