Review on The Dining Room at Maison Astor Paris
The Hotel Astor Saint-Honoré is located in the heart of Paris within walking distance of the Champs Elysées and the Opéra House. Their elegant dining room with an art deco décor was designed by the famous interior designer Frédéric Mechiche and attracts many of France's leading politicians whose offices are nearby.
Nicolas Clavier heads the kitchen and proposes a traditional French cuisine such as marinated salmon with tarragon, avocado mousseline and grapefruit foam or Landes foie gras and smoked eel among the starters. Inventive mains of rib of suckling pig from Aveyron, spinach, carrots and fragrant herbs or lobster roasted with fresh herbs, Grenailles potatoes cooked with dIsigny butter and petals of preserved tomatoes could feature on the menu, finishing with a dessert of warm Grand Marnieré soufflé and vanilla ice cream.
Open throughout the day is a stylish cocktail bar with an authentic English atmosphere and at lunch there is an innovative menu offered, including the indispensable and classic club sandwich and Caesar salad. At teatime fresh baked pastries and a selection of teas are served.
