Review on Le Lumière
Le Lumière restaurant is set in the Hôtel Scribe, once home to the famous Jokey Club, located in Paris' Opéra district near the exclusive Vendôme, Madeleine and Concorde squares. The dining room with its beautiful Belle Epoque décor is an elegant and romantic affair, illuminated by the light from the magnificent glass roof and walls adorned with pictures of the Lumière brothers, who displayed their first film here on December 28th 1895.
The restaurant under the leadership of Head Chef Sebastien Crison has been awarded a Michelin star for its creative gastronomy. Open your account with duck foie gras, semi-cooked with ginger, duck carpaccio, crisp, pak choi and Thai broth followed by a main course of veal cheek braised with small vegetables then flamed with Irish whiskey, salsify meunière and grey shallots and chips. To conclude there are tempting desserts such as Delight of Islands, Kromeskis rice milk with soy milk, coconut milk and chocolate milk ganache and tofu emulsion of exotic fruits or maybe choose the excellent cheese board.
