Review on Desperados
Desperados is a vibrant Mexican restaurant that was opened by Murray and Inci Ketenci in September 2010 in Petts Wood, a stone's throw from the station, and older sibling to Italian restaurant Murinci, just around the corner. Easily recognisable by its distinctive canopy-covered al fresco terrace, ideal for summer months, the interior is decorated with authentic South American artefacts on the wall, hand-painted furnishings, wicker lighting and tables and chairs hand made from Mexican root.
As Murray hails from Mexico and has travelled the globe training as a chef before embarking on his own restaurant, diners are ensured authentic Mexican cuisine using quality ingredients. The full menu pleases all-comers with its mix of Mexican stalwarts such as nachos and tacos, fajitas, tortilla and chilli, alongside some excellent cuts of steak including T-bone, sirloin and rib-eye.
There is an extensive cocktail list including non-alcoholic choices to complement the dishes. Desperadoes is a popular neighbourhood restaurant with the Latin music pulsing in the background contributing to the lively and fun atmosphere.
