La Fonda is a charming family run, attractive neighbourhood restaurant, not far from the main square of Plaça Major in the town of Pollensa in the far north corner of Mallorca. A beautifully restored town house, the interior has been stylishly decorated with interesting artwork displayed on the walls. During summer months the outside tables set up on the narrow street for dining al fresco are eagerly sought after.

The emphasis is on traditional Mallorcan dishes, with serious local and regional input, and a feel for the seasons. The restaurant is well known for their tasty tapas or you could choose a starter of goats cheese with a brûlée topping. Main courses take in such delights as paella, whole pigeon in cabbage or the sea bass cooked in salt is particularly recommended. Make sure you leave room for their delicious almond cake with ice cream. There is an extensive wine list to complement the food, including many Mallorcan wines that are also served by the glass.
