Review on Wentbridge House Hotel, Fleur de Lys Restaurant
Built in 1700 and once owned by the Bowes-Lyon family, this gracious country house is set amid 20 acres of landscaped grounds in the beautiful Went Valley. Inside it is famed for its antiques and Thompson furniture.
Formal meals are served in the sumptuous Fleur de Lys restaurant, where menus offer classic Anglo-French cooking in the shape of â€" say â€" caramelised king scallops with red chard and garlic butter, fillet of Scottish beef with spinach, rösti, shallot and veal jus, and crème brûlée with warm blueberry compote.
The Wentbridge Brasserie & Bar has a more casual and relaxed atmosphere and is ideal for light lunches or afternoon tea overlooking the gardens.
