Review on Casa Tapas
It may stand directly opposite the local cricket club, but Casa Tapas brings a touch of sunny Spain to the Lancashire village of Rawtenstall. This lively venue serves one of the largest range of hot and cold tapas in the north west, and the big assortment encompasses everything from authentic boquerones (marinated anchovies), albondigas (meatballs), stuffed squid in tomato sauce and callos (tripe with black pudding and chorizo) to international favourites like hummus, prawn cocktail and spare ribs in barbecue sauce.
Three versions of paella also feature among the choice of bigger dishes, along with whole dorada cooked on a 'plancha' and fillet steak with Rioja sauce. Set meals ('to share') are a good deal, and there are bottles of cerveza and quaffable wines to drink. Meals are accompanied by live Spanish guitar music most Friday and Saturday nights.
