Review on Restaurant Es Pati
Es Pati is a gem of a restaurant located on a quiet road in the pretty village of Sant Llorenc de Cardassar, a short drive from Cala Millor in the north east of Mallorca. The restaurant is owned by husband and wife team Sarah and Felix Eschrich Trappe, he mans the stoves while she adeptly manages front of house, as well as overseeing the innovative wine list. The restaurant has a rustic and inviting interior, displaying colourful artwork on the walls and a cosy open fireplace during the winter months. The pièce de résistance is their entrancing courtyard garden, where guests can dine in the summer surrounded by lush colourful flowers.
Felix earned his culinary stripes at the renowned Read's Hotel, before embarking on his own venture, where he offers a five course menu, that changes daily according to the very best of ingredients available from the local market. He aims to serve cuisine that is outstanding in terms of quality and creativity and typical dishes that show up on the carte are Asian seaweed salad with prawns, lemon cream and caviar or goat cheese with pineapple and passion fruit chutney, pine nuts and salad. Main courses embrace monkfish wrapped in ham, coated with black Venere rice and Trampó vinaigrette or maybe quail breast with mango chilli sauce and Felix BBQ Sauce. Tempting desserts close the show in the shape of exploding crema Catalan mousse with strawberries and mango sorbet, or pineapple with vanilla sauce caramel mousse and Peta Zeta.
The wine list knowledgeably assembled by Sarah is a delight, chosen mainly from small Mallorcan vineyards, together with the charming service she extends to her guests guarantees a memorable dining experience.
