Review on Rajnagar International Restaurant
Opened in 1987 and a regular recipient of regional awards and accolades, Rajnagar International is situated on the outskirts of Solihull, within easy reach of the NEC and Birmingham Airport. Inside, it has been sympathetically modernised and now has a vibrant contemporary look with clever lighting and stylish furnishings in the long narrow dining room. The lengthy menu has its share of tandooris, biryanis and curry house stalwarts, plus a raft of 'exclusive' specialities ranging from gosht acharee with shaktora fruit to 'ruposi bangla tarkari' (chicken tikka with minced meat and hard-boiled egg in a spiced masala sauce).
Rajnagar also has an intriguing 'exotic fish menu' based around specialities from the Bay of Bengal, including 'boal macher jul' (Bangaldeshi fish cooked with diced potatoes in onion sauce) and 'golda chingri luhari' (marinated king prawns with green chillies and tandoori spices).
