Simons at Oxfords Wine Bar Restaurant is at the heart of the action in Southampton and is currently a frontrunner for modern brasserie food. The interior has undergone a stylish refurbishment with a classically designed interior, big plate-glass windows, cream colour schemes, eye-catching artwork and polished wood floors. There are comfy striped chairs and sofas where you can relax with a drink, perfect for meeting friends.
On the food front the modern European menu features a selection of starters or small plates, Simon deli boards to share and Simply Simons dishes which are classics like beer battered fish and chips or New York chicken Caesar salad. Main courses take in crisp belly of pork served with Dauphinoise potatoes, wilted spinach and apple fondant or choose one of their excellent 28 day matured steaks. While desserts offer satisfaction with a classic vanilla crème brulée or maybe a Bakewell tart and English rhubarb paired with milk ice cream. There's an impressive wall of global wines in the entrance bar offering a good selection by the bottle, carafe or glass.
