Review on The Beach Restaurant
'A real gem', according to one Mobile Food Guide user, who praises the 'excellent food' at this eclectic venue in a glorious setting overlooking St Ives harbour. The Beach Restaurant lives up to its name with an open-fronted continental feel and lots of tables taking full advantage of the weather and the views.
The kitchen works to an eclectic menu with fresh local seafood as a major strength. Expect the likes of crab and lobster tian with avocado purée and mango sorbet, masala-spiced monkfish on Puy lentils with coconut cream and coriander mussels, and tranche of turbot with marsh samphire, herb-crusted potatoes, lemon and dill butter sauce.
Meat eaters and veggies are well served with alternatives such as herb-crusted rack of lamb and goats' cheese mash, or wild mushroom, spinach and artichoke linguine, while desserts could feature summer pudding with vanilla mascarpone cream. Lively, well-priced wines.
