Review on Forsthaus Mühlthal
The Forsthaus Mühlthal is a hidden gem. This beautiful restaurant is situated in the 'enchanted Mühlthal', in a building built by the Wittelbach dynasty. All year round day trippers are drawn to the cosy little room with its roaring stove and hunting trophies, as well as to the shady beer garden. They value good food here - chef Thomas Ludwig's cooking follows the seasons. Dishes include fresh local fish such as trout meunière, juicy tender venison fillet in juniper truffle sauce and crispy Flammkuchen (tarte flambée). The service is friendly and conscientious. If you drink too much wine (they have a selection of 28 red, 8 white and 1 rosé) you can even spend the night in one of the hotel rooms.
