Review on Yum Yum
Having delighted the local community for more than a decade, Yum Yum moved from its original premises in 2006 and now resides in a stately Georgian building further along Stoke Newington High Street. Parts of the listed mansion have been transformed into 'Europe's largest Thai restaurant' - a massive 400-seater complete with swathes of exotic gold and dark wood, low seating, natural stonework, ethnic artefacts and signature pink colour schemes; the place also boasts its own Thai garden.
The long menu offers the full range of accessible Thai dishes, from salads and soups to stir-fries and noodles, but it's worth looking out for specialities like lamb mussaman curry on the bone, deep-fried sea bream in 'three flavoured sauce' and 'ped song' (duck with crabmeat and cashews).
