Review on Humphry’s at Stoke Park
Humphry's restaurant is located in the Stoke Park, an enchanting and tranquil haven in the Thames Valley that is steeped in history. The restaurant itself is renowned for its classic British style and has become the byword for refinement and elegance outside of the capital.
Immediately on arrival, the recently refurbished restaurant imbues a luxurious ambience with its sumptuously designed interior. Executive Head Chef Chris Wheeler offers excellent modern British cuisine but with an innovative flourish drawing on his previous experiences with Jean-Christophe Novelli and his Michelin Starred restaurants.
The menu changes seasonally but one might expect to start with fresh asparagus served on a Maldon sea salt and rosemary muffin with wild mushrooms and chervil hollandaise. This could be followed by supreme of chicken filled with brie and topped with a herb crust, with rosti potato, honey-roasted parsnips and red wine jus. The selection of miniature English desserts is well worth trying, giving you a taster of every British classic, or perhaps a selection of British cheeses. Then you can walk off the calories with an exhilarating walk in the parkland or even a round of golf.
