Review on Sheep on Sheep Street
Originally known as The Grapevine Hotel, in July 2016 it opened with a new look and name, Sheep on Sheep Street. A charming honey-coloured stone building, in keeping with the characteristic buildings of this historic market town, it features a contemporary all day dining restaurant with a cosy fire. The open kitchen offers a wide ranging a la carte menu as well as freshly cooked pizzas from their wood-fired oven. During summer months there's a charming outdoor dining area and garden built around a feature fireplace.
The kitchen works to a crowd pleasing menu offering dishes such as bruschetta, slow roasted tomatoes with garlic and chilli oil or Thai fishcakes with Asian slaw and Vietnamese dipping sauce. When it comes to main courses there's a tasty selection of of pizzas alongside other options like whole baked seabass, Thai style with garlic and chilli greens and Sichuan style pork belly with leeks, chillies and peanut dressed rice noodles. Amongst the desserts look for caramel and macadamia baked cheesecake with pomegranate ice cream or pain au chocolate bread and butter pudding paired with Cotswold cream ice cream.
Sheep on Sheep Street has 22 stylish bedrooms should you wish to extend your stay and explore the beautiful surrounding countryside further.
