Review on Patricks
'Lounging at Patrick's with Rooms' is the name of the game at this expanded premises on Mumbles Road, opened by Patrick Walsh and co in 1993. Guests can now chill out in the colonial-style bar before progressing to the main restaurant.
Patrick and one partner head the kitchen, the other two oversee proceedings out front. Meals kick off with home-baked breads before, say, ham hock terrine with apple chutney or sun-dried tomato tartlet with pesto, before breaded Pembrokeshire pork escalope with red onion relish or fillet of salmon on a bed of roasted fennel with red pepper sauce. There's plenty of choice for vegetarians, and desserts could include lemon tart with orange sorbet or 'summer flowers transformed onto a plate for you to smell and taste'.
