Review on Orangerie Restaurant at Manor Parc
Originally built for a Welsh steel magnate, Manor Parc is set in secluded grounds, just a ten-minute drive to the north of Cardiff. Since 1984, it's been run as a country hotel and restaurant by Sicilian-born Salvatore and Eira Salimeni, who have established the venue as a popular destination for work or pleasure.
Formal meals are served in the opulent, lavishly furnished dining room overlooking the terraced grounds, and the kitchen offers a crowd-pleasing menu of European and international favourites. Typical offerings might include tian of prawns and smoked salmon with a citrus dressing, loin of pork with celeriac mash and cider sauce, Thai king prawn curry, and Cajun duck breast with orange, ginger and honey glaze. Sweets are from the trolley.
