Review on Lanninger
The name Lanninger is not just the name of Andreas Lanninger's Berlin bar but since April has also been the name of the bar in the ABION Hotel. The name is synonymous with a new venue where you can get traditional cocktails, drinks and quality live music. A 14 metre long bar is the centrepiece of the Lanninger which is light and airy and feels spacious with its clear view of the river Spree. Fireplaces provide heat and create shadowy effects. The décor also includes some imaginative lighting features. The bar may be large - accommodating 120 people - but it still has a cosy feel. It has little recesses and sitting areas where you can take it easy. The restaurant area by the floor to ceiling panoramic windows is just the place to while away your time. 'Lanni', as is he is known to his friends, is at home working with chef Rainer Strobel to serve up lunch and dinner for his guests. The cocktail menu offers numerous premium spirits, 120 different cocktails and a fine selection of champagne. Andreas Lanninger is hospitable by nature and has a warm and friendly personality. When asked about what drives him he will answer without a moment's thought: A bartender is someone you can confide in and an entertainer. Someone who can look after you and who makes you feel happy. His guests see this, love it and thank him for it. The hotel's very own yacht Aida is moored on the river Spree on the other side of the terrace - for exclusive river tours. Smokers are welcome to use the adjoining 'Davidoo' smoker's lounge.
