Review on The Ivy House
Following an impressive re-vamp, the famous Ivy House pub on Tonbridge High Street has re-opened as 'The Ivy House Dining Room & Bar' in its new guise, the classic tile-clad building puts the emphasis on exciting modern food with real ales and some great wines to match.
The kitchen seeks out Kentish seasonal produce and local seafood for a menus that promises a deal for fans of modern British food. Typical dishes might include smoked Dungeness eel with fresh horseradish mousse and oak-smoked sprats, followed by roast Romney Marsh lamb rump with a dauphinoise of potato carrot and red berry jus. Lunch is a lighter affair with ciabatta loaves, appetisers and one-dish meals to the fore.
