Review on Oro Restaurant
Oro Restaurant is set in the grand Hotel Cipriani on Giudecca Island, an iconic Orient-Express hotel with unrivalled views of the lagoon and Doge's Palace, just four minutes by private launch from San Marco. This is one of Venice's most beautiful restaurants adorned with luxurious silks, Murano glass chandeliers and amber coloured mirrors, together with architectural touches reminiscent of St Mark's domes. Fortuny also boasts two large terraces amidst flower-filled gardens bordering the lagoon to take in the breathtaking views.
Executive chef is Davide Bisetto who proposes a delectable menu of the finest Venetian and Italian specialities. Typical offerings on the menu might be a starter of escalope of goose foie gras with caramelized Granny Smith apples and Porto sauce followed by a main course of sautéed beef fillet with dry Marsala wine sauce, spinach leaves with raisins and pine nuts. There's a tempting dessert menu as well as a large selection of rare fine cheeses from selected Italian farmers.
Service is notably attentive and the candlelit setting ensures a relaxed and romantic atmosphere.
