Review on Le Bistrot de Venise
Le Bistrot de Venise first opened in 1993 in the heart of Venice, just a short stroll from St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge, in Calle dei Fabbri at the foot of Ponte delle Pignatte. Recommended by Michelin and other influential and prestigious gastronomic guidebooks it has become a destination restaurant for diners. Le Bistrot de Venice has a welcoming and cosy atmosphere with dark wood, tiled floors, old posters and photos adorning the walls, red upholstered chairs and matching red candlesticks on the well-laid tables.
The restaurant offers reinterpretations of historical Venetian recipes for its innovative menu that could feature such delights as carpaccio mazo, lambs kidneys with goat cheese dumplings, spaghetti frutti di mare Venetian style or sturgeon with garlic and wild berry pudding. Desserts are not to be missed either, creme brûlée with orange and berries or creme di melone liqueur in a thin chocolate shell. To accompany your dining experience there is an exceptional wine list of over 200 references of Italian and French labels, with over 60 available by the glass. Service is polite and professional and there are tables on the pavement for dining al fresco.
