Review on The Thomas Lord
The Thomas Lord is a charming pub restaurant set in the small picturesque village of West Meon in Hampshire and the pub is named after the founder of Lord's Cricket Ground who retired to West Meon in 1830. At the entrance logs are stacked to fuel the open fires within, where the several rooms have been decorated in a rustic style, with wooden chairs and tables on a stripped wood floor.
The kitchen's menu is updated on a daily basis and ingredients are sourced from small scale growers, producers and farms in Hampshire and central Southern England. So on the menu look for dressed Portland pot caught brown crab cocktail, chilli jam and croutes among the starters followed by low roasted Greenfield pork belly, sage and apple sauce and finishing with one of their delicious traditional desserts. There is a delightful landscaped garden where they have their own chickens and quails running about, as well as the popular outdoor pizza oven.
The Thomas Lord is also featured in: Michelin Guide, Good Food Guide, AA Guide
