Review on The Baron's Hall at The Weston Manor Hotel
Set in the heart of Weston-on-the-Green surrounded by the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, the Baron's Hall is the showpiece restaurant of The Manor hotel. The glorious gardens make a stunning backdrop to this magnificent country house, steeped in history that can trace its roots back to the 11th century. The Baron's Hall offers a formal setting for fine dining with candlelit tables laid with crisp linen, walls have been carefully restored to show its linen fold oak-panelling and a fabulous medieval style chandelier takes centre stage.
The kitchen delivers a raft of tempting ideas kicking off with a starter of Dorset crab, pears, chervil puree and fresh chestnut before a main course of squab pigeon, cabbage, pine nuts and pomme puree or line caught Cornish cod, razor clams, ratte potato and red wine jus. Artfully displayed desserts close the show with blackberry vanilla brulee, fresh apple and cobnut or poached William pear, walnut granola, coffee and mascarpone.
The original Minstrel's Gallery above the Baron's Hall is perfect for private dining parties of up to 16 and when the weather is warm you can dine on their beautiful Topiary Terrace.
