Review on Tiffin
'The best in the east,' exclaimed one enthusiastic Mobile Food Guide user about Tiffin - a stylish addition to the restaurant scene around Shadwell and Whitechapel. Inside it has been modishly fitted out, with marble tables and granite floors adding a touch of contemporary chic to proceedings.
North Indian tandooris figure strongly on the menu, along with salmon samosas, quails in spicy garam masala sauce and old favourites such as keema peas. Also check out 'Friday's catch' (various kinds of Bangladeshi freshwater fish cooked in mustard oil).
The kitchen has also developed a range of 'low cholesterol' dishes cooked in pure virgin olive oil: try lebu murghi (chicken marinated in a lemongrass sauce with coriander, garlic and ginger). You can also call in for 'express tandoori wraps' to take away.
