Review on Whitminster Inn
A rambling, family-run inn just off junction 13 of the M5, the Whitminster is a custom-built complex serving the needs of travellers, tourists exploring the Cotswolds and those looking for a wedding or conference venue (it has its own marquee for outdoor bashes).
The main restaurant offers broadly based international food and grills from a menu that might list French onion soup laced with cognac, braised lamb shank, Cajun-spiced chicken breast and pork steak with black pudding and glazed apple, followed by treacle sponge pudding or chocolate truffle torte. Pub grub and simpler food is also available at lunchtime, along with a carvery.
In addition, the Whitminster Inn also boasts the China Garden the Indian Garden restaurants, which serve authentic oriental cuisine in contemporary surroundings. Note that the Indian Garden is only open for dinner (from 5.00pm until late).
