Review on Heddy's
Heddy Ghazizadeh’s popular neighbourhood restaurant is a real Mecca for fans of East Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cooking without frills. The extensive menu provides cracking value for money â€" especially at lunchtime, when you can nip in for a plate of meze, an open sandwich of tabbouleh and falafel, or a salad of Haloumi cheese and spinach.
In the evening, the focus shifts to couscous, all manner of high-protein kebabs and traditional Middle Eastern specialities such as faruj (marinated roast poussin stuffed with spicy minced lamb, rice and nuts served with brandy sauce) or char-grilled smoked fillet steak marinated in red wine, black peppercorns and spices. Desserts don’t stretch far beyond baklava, Turkish delight and speciality ice creams. Check out the tantalising Lebanese bottles on the worldwide wine list.
