Review on Latino
Latino Italian restaurant is situated a few steps from the High Street in the heart of Woking, sibling to the popular Positano in Guildford, Surrey. It is light and airy with it's floor to ceiling windows, tables are well-laid with crisp white linen and it has a warm and inviting ambience.
The kitchen uses fresh and natural ingredients for a menu that showcases authentic recipes from the southern regions of Italy. You might begin with a starter of crostino Latino, crostini topped with a selection of wild mushrooms in a cream sauce or fegatino pollo ai funghi, chicken livers with mushrooms cooked in a Marsala wine sauce. There is an interesting choice of pizza, pastas, and salads or you could choose spigola all' acqua pazza, fillets of sea bass with tiger prawns, cooked in white wine and cherry tomatoes sauce served with sauté potatoes or for carnivores there's prime fillet of 100% Scottish beef with Parma ham in a Marsala wine sauce and sauté potatoes. To conclude there are traditional Italian desserts such as crème brulee and pannacotta.
There is an extensive wine list with a focus on Italy, as well as offerings from other major wine-growing regions around the globe.
