High over the city of Zürich the R21 restaurant in the Sorell Hotel Zürichberg, a unique restored Art Nouveau building, impresses its guests with contemporary cuisine in an elegant environment. Surrounded by a beautiful garden, which the kitchen sources its herbs from, the team at the R21 welcomes diners with creations made from market fresh cuisine with a Mediterranean influence.
The seasonal produce which is sourced locally is used to make ever new and changing specialities. On the menu you will see, for example, cream of peas with avocado, puff pastry with black sesame seeds amongst the starters, followed by a main course of fillet of lamb roasted, thyme jus, eggplant-artichoke ratatouille, fried potatoes with olives or fillet of sole meuniere style, spinach leaf and parsley potatoes. Tempting desserts close the show with rhubarb marinated with strawberries and rhubarb sorbet or maybe caramelised apple cake with vanilla ice cream.
The wine list offers a good selection of champagnes and wines with a focus on Europe. Service is knowledgeable and friendly in a relaxed ambience, with fantastic views of Lake Zurich and the city.
