Review on The Old Manor Restaurant & Bar
Handily placed opposite Wyllyotts Theatre in the town of Potters Bar in Hertfordshire, The Old Manor is set in a building that can trace its roots back to the 13th century. This stunning establishment with its restaurant and a separate bar is set over two floors featuring impressive Tudor beams, rustic wood tables and vintage light fittings creating an inviting ambience.
It is an immensely likeable place with a dedication to freshly prepared dishes using the finest seasonal and local produce. Typical starters that appear on the menu are smoked haddock and salmon fishcakes served with a pea puree, lemon wedge and a parsley sauce or maybe baked fresh brie stuffed fig in parma ham on winter leaves with crispy shallots and plum chutney. Follow on with a main course of belly of pork with rosemary roast potatoes, sautι cabbage with smoked bacon and garlic, apple and redcurrant jus and crackling or the surf & turf is a popular choice consisting of tender 5 oz rump steak grilled to your liking with deep fried wholetail scampi, chunky chips onion rings, grilled herb tomato, grilled flat mushroom and peas.
Service is friendly and welcoming and there's music and dancing in the bar at weekends.
