Review on Tozi Restaurant & Bar
Tozi is a Venetian inspired restaurant, although set in the Park Plaza Victoria London, it has its own entrance and operates separately from the hotel. Serving an all day menu in both the restaurant and the bar of cicchetti, the Venetian version of tapas, Tokii is a slang Italian word meaning a group of friends.
The restaurant was the inspiration of Daniele Pampagnin, formerly the Executive Italian Brand Chef at Cecconi's, the first restaurant to bring cicchetti to London, and Maurilio Molteni, who previously worked at Shoreditch House with Daniele. The smart glass frontage leads to an equally inviting interior decked out in warm tones, wood furnishings and marble, vintage Italian prints adorn the walls, with the large open kitchen taking centre stage.
The kitchen serves authentic Venetian small plates together with charcuterie, cheese platters, wood oven-cooked mains and sharing dishes, with an emphasis on impeccably sourced ingredients. Typical offerings on the carte include Wild Boar salami from Umbria; asparagus, peas, quail egg and Summer truffle or Octopus, potatoes, celery and olives. To finish with something sweet there's chocolate delice, hazelnut and coconut sorbet or maybe Ciambella, Amalfi limoncello cream.
To complement the food there's an all Italian wine list, with homemade oak-aged Negroni, Prosecco on tap and tasty cocktails.
