Review on The Park Restaurant by Adam Jackson
The Park Restaurant is the first solo venture from highly skilled chef Adam Jackson, who earned a prestigious Michelin star when he was Head Chef at the Black Swan at Oldstead. The restaurant was originally located within the grounds of Sutton Park but has now moved to the Marmadukes Town House Hotel, a Victorian property just minutes from York's famous city walls.
Jackson proposes elegant and classic dishes with an innovative and modern twist for his authentic ingredient-driven eight course tasting menu. Menus change daily, but typically could offer dishes in the shape of crispy white beans, beef rillette; Japanese tuna; chicken and globe artichoke; beetroot gravlax; pork celeriac, hazelnut granola; finishing with a pre dessert of Alex's chocolate orange before brioche, tonka bean and blackberry. The Park Restaurant is the proud recipient of three AA Rosettes.
There's a concise wine list to complement the dishes and the service team are particularly knowledgeable and welcoming.
