Review on Wild Carrot at the Four Seasons Hampshire
The Wild Carrot is the signature restaurant of the Four Seasons Hotel, a stately Georgian manor house set in 500 acres of glorious Hampshire countryside. Just an hour from central London, the hotel has undergone a stunning refurbishment ensuring that guests can enjoy all the modern features of the 21st century, whilst being sympathetic to the buildings heritage. Named after a pretty white wildflower that is found in the fields of Dogmersfield Park, which can be viewed through the French windows.
Seasonal and locally sourced ingredients form the backbone of the menu that kicks of with langoustine and sea bass carpaccio, green apple, beetroot sorbet and tobiko before a main course of lamb shoulder, lightly smoked baba ganoush, almond stuffed tomato and boulangère potatoes with black olives and thyme before finishing with a dessert of sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream.
There's a thoughtfully compiled wine list of popular vintages to complement the food.
